Quick! Which team was founded earlier — Real Madrid or Barcelona?

You probably know the answer already if you were at our team get-together last Sunday. Teammates joined up to enjoy a delicious meal and watch the 2026 Spanish Supercopa final between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

It was exciting to watch kid wonder Lamine Yamal and Raphinha battle Vini Jr. and Aurélien Tchouaméni—but just as thrilling was our halftime Trivia Battle!

With questions both technical and historical, our players learned soccer lore—from the meaning of “tiki-taka” to how red cards work.

With a 3-2 result (Barcelona victorious!), the game stayed exciting: Barça took the lead twice and Madrid answered twice, resulting in four goals in just 15 minutes. Seeing the best of the best playing with maximum flair and effort was a great example for Centaurus FC’s athletes. We love seeing the wonder on our players’ faces, and connecting them to world football culture.

So, if you missed it, be sure to come out to our next game-watching party. Ah, and if you are wondering: the older club is Barcelona, founded way back in 1899!

We’re a small club with a strong training FOCUS:

At Centaurus FC, highly-experienced, licensed coaches help players develop both strong individual skills and outstanding team tactics. We believe in small-group, 1-on-1 attention to teach great technique from Day 1, while having fun and learning teamwork. We also add S.A.Q.S. training from a young age to improve athleticism and prevent injuries.

We´re A neighborhood club:

We train on New York’s Upper East Side, and play in league games within the 5 boroughs, with some tournament trips within the Tri-State area.

Train locally, grow globally—INTERNATIONAL SOCCER EXPERIENCEs:

We also expose our youth athletes to international soccer from a young age at international training camps in soccer-loving countries around the world. They’ll meet children from varied cultures, and come back with a new perspective.

CFC trains using soccer-related sports like futsal and futnet, common in South America. Our goal is not only to form strong players, but players with high Soccer IQ, and a love for the game, who feel a part of world soccer culture.

U7 - U9 Girls Travel Teams (born 2017-2019)
